We at Ouse District School are joining the fight against Neurofibromatosis (NF) by fundraising in support of the Children's Tumour Foundation of Australia (CTF). NF is a genetic disorder that causes tumours to grow on the nervous system, including the brain and spine. It is progressive, unpredictable and currently there is no cure. Every day, children and adults are forced to fight a foe they can sometimes neither see, hear or even feel, but it can attack their body from the inside out - without warning and without remorse. They face a life of uncertainty and anxiety; forced to fight tumours that can cause blindness, deafness, bone abnormalities, physical disfigurement, learning difficulties and cancer. They are borN Fighters and we are proud to be standing in their corner supporting them through their difficult journey. We have a goal to raise $2000 to support the Children's Tumour Foundation's investments into research, specialist clinics and educational resources, as well as support programs that will lead to improved health and life outcomes - and eventually a cure. I believe that tumours should never be a person's normal, so please help me reach our goal by making a tax-deductible donation today. Thank you.

Today Ouse District School had our NF day where students dressed in blue and green and purchased blue and green treats. We made $93.80 which is a fantastic effort given that we only have 16 students. Thank you for your support, and a big thank you to Merryn for making the yummy treats.

On Saturday the 15th of May, I will be selling raffle tickets at the New Norfolk Saturday Market. If you are wishing to purchase a ticket to our fantastic raffle, then please com along.

NF ribbons can be purchased from the Ouse District School office or the Central Highlands Health Centre. All proceeds go to the Children's Tumour Foundation. Ribbons are $5 each.

Raffle tickets are now available for our NF Awareness Raffle. Tickets are $2 each. If you would like a raffle book sent out to you to assist us in reaching our fundraising goal then please contact Vanessa Triffitt at Ouse District and I will organise one to be sent out to you. There are six prizes to be won with a total prize value of approximately $2,200. I am contactable via the school on (03) 6287 1259

Today we received an extremely generous donation of $500 towards our $2000 fundraising goal from the Central Highlands Council.
