Not all donations are monetary - volunteering your time, effort and expertise is also a valuable way to contribute to the CTF. By forgoing traditional payment, you are ensuring that there is more money that can go directly to where it is needed most— supporting over 10,000 Australians affected by NF and their families.
We have a number of opportunities available throughout the year including:
SKILLED OR UNSKILLED VOLUNTEERING
We recognise that your time is valuable and that you have worked hard to hone your skills. However, we also know that there is a growing desire among working professionals to find greater purpose in what they do. We can help you with this – by inviting you into our world for a short or extended period of time.
We have a range of important projects we would love your help with. As a small service, we do not always have the time, talent or skills to do everything that we would like, to the standard we expect of ourselves.
Please contact us at fundraising@ctf.org.au if you have general office skills or marketing skills.
INTERNSHIPS
Are you studying a related course or looking to build a career in the not-for-profit sector? An internship is a great way to get your foot in the door and gain some valuable skills and meaningful experiences in a professional environment.
As an intern you will be volunteering your time to assist the CTF team with upcoming campaigns, projects and other daily tasks. Build your marketing and PR skills by helping us with media and promotions, use your events knowledge to assist in organising our fundraising events, or put your design skills to use by creating posters and graphics for our website, social media and events.
Interning at the Children’s Tumour Foundation was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It allowed me to gain hands-on experience into the real world and use the skills and theoretical knowledge I gained from university and put them into practice.
It was so great to work within such a supportive team of people who took the time to mentor and guide me throughout my three-month internship. Working within such a small organisation exposes you to so many facets of the organisation, and you develop so many skills that I don’t think you would acquire working in larger companies.
Interning is such an invaluable experience, and I encourage everyone to jump at the opportunity to intern at such an amazing organisation."
