Ways to Fundraise

When you fundraise for us, attend an event or create a challenge to raise much-needed funds, you’re helping support those living with Neurofibromatosis (NF), a genetic condition that affects as many as 1 in every 2,500 people in Australia.

People living with NF are borN Fighters. They are our inspiration and the reason we exist. It is largely due to the fundraising efforts of passionate change-makers like you that we’re able to provide the practical and ongoing support the NF community need to battle this devastating condition.

Every one of us can make a difference and the information on this page is designed to empower you to bring about change in your own way.

ORGANISE YOUR OWN EVENT

You don’t need to wait for one of our awesome campaigns to fundraise – you can rally your friends, family and local community to be part of the movement any time of the year!

Whether you’re a social butterfly or a bit of an introvert, our fundraising kit and resources give you the opportunity to raise funds your way.

Here are some ideas and inspiration from those who have gone before to get you started!

SHAVE YOUR HEAD OR BEARD

Be Bold. Be Brave. Go Bald. We all get very attached to our hair, so choosing to shave it off is a huge sacrifice, but it is a sacrifice that many going through chemo or surgery have no control over. It’s a great way to stand together with the NF community.

DONATE YOUR BIRTHDAY

Let’s be honest, we all have more than we need, so why not ask friends and family to donate to the CTF in lieu of gifts. You can set up a fundraising page on our website or create a birthday fundraising event on Facebook.

ORGANISE A TRIVIA NIGHT

Community quiz nights are a great way to get everyone together to have fun and raise money. Ask an extroverted friend to act as MC, seek out donated prizes for a raffle, offer the option to buy answers or even create a theme for the night.

NF AWARENESS MONTH

Each May we celebrate NF Awareness Month! 💙💚

We  form one part of a global community working to improve awareness and deepen understanding of Neurofibromatosis, while raising much needed funds to support better treatment options and enable access to critical support services.

The only thing worth spreading this May is awareness of NF.

NF HERO CHALLENGE

Be an NF Hero. Support all those who live their lives in the shadow of a devastating and often debilitating genetic condition. The NF Hero Challenge is an online fundraising campaign that invites men, women and children of all ages to be a hero for the NF community by facing a fear, taking on a physical challenge or giving up something you love to raise funds and awareness of NF.
