I am joining the fight against Neurofibromatosis (NF) by fundraising in support of the Children's Tumour Foundation of Australia (CTF).

Usually at this time of year I would begin a month-long birthday celebration, but as May is Neurofibromatosis (NF) awareness month, this year I am going to forgo (some) of the celebrating for a worthy cause.

NF occurs in 1 of every 2,500 people, affecting more than 2.5 million people around the world. So why don’t more people know about it? Because there is no simple way to define NF. Its impact can be both visible and invisible. You may barely notice it or it could be life-threatening.

The NF fighter in my life is my baby sister Cassie, who is stronger and braver than I could ever be.

I have a goal to raise $500 to support the Children's Tumour Foundation's investments into research, specialist clinics and educational resources, as well as support programs that will lead to improved health and life outcomes - and eventually a cure.
