what are we playing for?

Every 3 days a child is born with NF in Australia.

NF is a genetic condition that causes tumours to form on nerves in the body, including the brain and spine. It can lead to a range of significant health issues including deafness, blindness, paralysis, physical differences, bone abnormalities, cancer, learning difficulties and chronic pain.

It is unpredictable, progressive and there is no cure. But there is hope.

As a parent we all have hopes, dreams and expectations for our children. Sometimes when a child is diagnosed with NF, it can leave parents feeling a sense of grief and loss for what could have been.

Importantly, the impact of NF can reach well beyond the person affected including all extended family and friends.

In addition to the funds we invest in research, the Children's Tumour Foundation is here to support any family member, carer or friend who would like information, support, and connection as they navigate the NF journey alongside their loved ones.

NF can affect anyone regardless of age, ethnicity or gender, with 50 per cent of cases arising in families with no history of the condition.

We need your help to improve understanding of the signs and symptoms of NF, to share the stories of real people affected by the condition and raise much needed funds.
