NF Awareness Month

May is NF Awareness Month – a time to connect and reflect; to foster hope in the NF community and educate the broader market about Neurofibromatosis (NF).

Throughout the month, we will be engaging schools, healthcare professionals, businesses and families across Australia to help shine a light on NF. Your support will help amplify our message, raise the profile of NF and build awareness of the work we do at the Children’s Tumour Foundation.

There are number of important dates that we celebrate for very important reasons.

NF is caused by a genetic mutation on specific chromosomes.

  • NF1 is located on Chromosome Number 17, so we choose to celebrate World NF Awareness Day on the 17th May
  • NF2 is located on Chromosome Number 22, so we choose to celebrate NF2 Awareness Day on the 22nd May

So, what can you do to get involved?

We have a number of great initiatives planned throughout the month that offers you both inspiration and the flexibility to celebrate as it best fits with your needs.
