A child is born with NF every three days. They need a lifetime of support.
Each year in Australia, around 100 children are born with neurofibromatosis (NF), a diagnosis that can leave parents feeling a deep sense of grief and loss for what could have been. As hard as it may be for a parent navigating the unknown, it is even tougher to be a young child trying to understand why this has happened to them.
The implications are immediate, but the impact is both lifelong and uncertain. A single gene change has the potential to effect so many areas of the body without any clear understanding of when, where and how each new tumour will impact function.
Every family facing this complex and uncertain future deserves a dependable support network.
Because NF is unpredictable, we are calling on the community to make their support unshakeable.
