I think we can all agree that 2020 has been nothing short of challenging. For those impacted by NF, it has also meant losing access to their normal support networks, cancellation of surgeries and changes to how people access appointments that monitor tumour growth.
The fear, uncertainty and anxiety that is currently being felt around the globe is essentially what NF families live with on a daily basis, but that does not mean we give up. In fact, we fight harder.
This September we are taking back control and showing 2020 exactly who's boss!
That gives you 30 days to complete a challenge that tests you physically, mentally or emotionally – what you choose is up to YOU!
Why? Because no two cases of NF are the same, so why should the challenge you face be any different?
Registration is FREE. It is completely virtual. Leaving the house is optional.
You can sign up your own, with friends or as a team at work with the option to complete it on a single day or challenge yourself every day for a month.
We have seen heads and beards shaved, eyebrows dyed and hairy men’s legs waxed live on Facebook. We have witnessed whole families plunge into ice cold water and others jump from great heights.
What unites them all is their bravery and tenacity to make a hero-sized difference to the lives of families impacted by NF and their resolve to raise much needed funds for the Children’s Tumour Foundation. Check out some cool ideas below!

Conquering NF is more than just finding a cure. The NF journey from diagnosis through to treatment is challenging, and most of what families will experience is unknown. Many people come to the CTF at breaking point, seeking help to solve a specific problem or to feel connected to someone who understand their pain. Their sense of isolation and invisibility has only been compounded by COVID.
Our Support Services Team need to be many things to many different people, adapting as the situation requires it. They are a critical point of connection for families and tireless advocates for better resources, better treatment options and better recognition for those living with NF in Australia.
Our goal is to raise $100,000 to ensure frontline services are supported now and into the future.
