A STATEMENT FROM THE CHILDREN'S TUMOUR FOUNDATION BOARD
To our dear NF community, supporters, donors and friends,
First, we hope that you and your loved ones are keeping safe and well.
We wanted to take a moment to give you an update on some changes at the Children’s Tumour Foundation (CTF) that have been brought about by these extraordinarily challenging times.
The drought, recent bushfires, and COVID-19 have changed the way we live, interact with each other and give. Unfortunately, the CTF has not been immune to these impacts and decisions we would not have contemplated previously, have now had to be considered.
With the cancellation of our biggest fundraising event in March (Cupid’s Undie Run) and general decline in donations over the past 12 months, the CTF Board is taking measures to ensure the CTF remains operational for as long as possible to serve the NF community.
In addition to efficiencies already implemented internally to reduce costs, the CTF Board has made the decision to prioritise frontline services, which has meant saying goodbye to CEO, Louise Skilbeck and Office Manager, Kaitlyn Zhang. These were not easy decisions to make and we are most grateful to both for their contributions to, and support of, the NF community.
The CTF will continue to apply funds already raised or donated for specific projects, clinics or research and these will be honoured without exception e.g. money raised for the MEK inhibitor trial.
Rest assured, our support team will continue to be available for calls and online as normal. The CTF Board – all of whom are volunteers – will be working more closely with the CTF team to ensure we collectively achieve a seamless transition and continuation of services.
We want you to know that even as we are physically and socially distanced we, the CTF Board and the CTF Team, are connected by our commitment to conquer NF.
